Authenticity is everything.
At Casa dei Bambini (“Children’s House” in Italian), we strive to provide your child with the most authentic Montessori experience while giving them the opportunity to flourish in a Primary Level classroom, referred to as a “prepared environment”.
Introducing AMI Montessori to Boise
In 1911, the first AMI Montessori schools in the United States opened in New York and Boston. With over 25 years of experience in AMI Montessori schools, we are proud to be the first and only fully-accredited AMI Montessori school in the entire state of Idaho.
Offering both full-day and half-day programs for ages 2.5-6, Casa dei Bambini provides a prepared environment with a complete set of Montessori materials, organized to support the developmental characteristics and interests of a mixed age group, promoting purposeful activity. Such materials support concrete exploration which lead both to practical skills and abstract knowledge with its lessons initiated by an AMI-certified Montessori teacher, while upholding the highest pedagogical standards.
What is AMI ?
Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) is the sole Montessori organization founded by Dr. Montessori herself, to maintain and develop her pedagogy with the purpose of making it available to as many children as possible worldwide. It was founded in August 1929 by Maria and her son Mario in Helsingør, Denmark. Today, AMI remains headquartered in Amsterdam at 161-163 Koninginneweg.
As many parents have discovered, choosing a Montessori school can be a confusing undertaking. The name “Montessori” is not trademarked, and any school or childcare center can call itself “Montessori,” whether it offers an authentic Montessori program or not. AMI maintains pedagogical standards for Montessori schools. The AMI School Standards maintain the level of excellence that Maria Montessori envisioned. Established by the AMI Scientific Pedagogy Group, they are designed to ensure that schools offer programs that allow for children’s full intellectual, social, and psychological growth, consistent with what is presented in AMI training courses worldwide.
